They are currently seeking to appoint a Senior Engineer (Structural), based on the Gold Coast, to successfully deliver a complex range of engineering projects, with effective quality monitoring to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded consistently. Experience with tall buildings is essential.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Managing and leading a team of Engineers, Graduate Engineers, Senior Technicians and Technicians, providing advice, mentoring, and coaching as required, to deliver technical training, support, and guidance to innovatively resolve complex engineering problems;

  • Maintaining a high degree of knowledge of the requirements of authorities and local and international standards and codes;

  • Ensuring all designs are innovative, prepared to a high standard, and meet the organisation's standards and values, and the clients' needs and expectations;

  • Identifying and resolving any project issues quickly so as to avoid problems for clients;

  • Maintaining and applying strong understanding of construction costings, practice and factors that impact buildability and construction costings on site;

  • Collaborating with project resources including Engineers, Technicians and Administration Support to ensure project deadlines are met;

  • Ensuring regular, effective communication with all project resources to convey program requirements for timely delivery, project status and potential risks;

  • Ensuring communication with customers is regular, open, professional and effective so they are kept up to date regarding the project status and any existing or potential issues;

  • Co-ordinating with other disciplines and external parties, as required;

  • Understanding the business plan of your division/practice and the organisation's strategic direction;

  • Ensuring a high level of Quality Assurance (QA) for all projects, in line with company standards, systems and processes;

  • Ensuring internal and external peer reviews and QA audits are completed and actioned;

  • Maintaining current project performance briefs for all projects undertaken
