They offer solutions in any part of Australia from highly congested sites requiring retrofit or underpinning, to very isolated sites requiring aerial and rope access. An opportunity now exists for someone to lead the finance and HR functions, and deliver transformational change to enable and facilitate continued business growth for this successful company. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a business critical role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering and collaborating with the Executive Team to make decisions regarding the organisation’s financial and people strategies and operations.

  • Financial strategy and analysis, financial reporting, financial policies and procedures, and management of external relationships related to banking, insurance and audit.

  • Deliver continuous improvement of financial systems and processes and the successful delivery of projects critical to the finance road map.

  • Ensure that the finance strategies and priorities are aligned to the overall strategic direction.

  • Lead a collaborative financial planning process for the business and ensure that effective planning cycles within finance and business operations are aligned with the agreed business strategy.

  • Provide financial advice, analysis and reporting to the Board on all strategic and operational aspects of financial management for the organisation.

  • Oversee and monitor the organisation’s financial position, banking and financing activities, and capital structure.

  • Oversee the day to day associated financial operations, processes and systems including transaction processing, billing, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, credit, tax planning and filings, payroll, asset and cash management.

  • Provide hands-on management of asset and equipment management, property and lease management, insurance policies and workers compensation management.

  • Oversee legal affairs and compliance including tax matters, contracts and risk management.

  • Identify and report to the Board on strategic or ad-hoc risk related to financial compliance, and present mitigation strategies and proposals.

  • Ensure an effective internal control framework is in place and take steps to enhance existing control systems where necessary.

  • Provide oversight and contribution to the successful delivery of business projects as outlined in the Finance road map.

  • Oversee effective use of a newly implemented ERP system.

  • Manage the relationships with external auditors, insurance providers and banks to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure governance processes are monitored and managed to comply with internal finance policies.

  • Provide analytics/insights to enable identification/management of key market/operational trends.
